Reflecting on Fashion Moments: A Year in Collection Rotation

The end of the year has arrived once again, and as we prepare to bid farewell to the last 10+ months, it’s the perfect time to look back at the highlights. From the fashion trends to the not-so-fun moments, this year has been uniquely memorable in many ways.

We’ll steer clear of delving too deeply into end-of-year musings and focus instead on the impact this year has had on our collections. Let’s dive into it!

A Shift in Collection Rotation

A couple of years back, I set a personal goal to shop my own closet more and rotate my bags regularly. This year, I stayed true to this goal and continued to practice mindful collection curation. While last year saw a significant overhaul of my collection, this year was more about adding new pieces, with the realization that downsizing will be necessary in the near future.

My closet welcomed several new additions including the Celine 16, Prada Cleo, JW Anderson Bumper Bag, and most recently, the Bottega Veneta Hop. This year, I focused on diversifying my collection with a mix of brands and styles. While each bag received some love throughout the year, a few were certainly favored over others.

Prada Cleo Takes the Lead

The versatile Bottega Veneta Silver Cassette became a staple in my rotation due to its metallic neutral tone and functional crossbody design, making it an effortless choice for daily wear. I also found myself reaching for the Saint Laurent Le 5 à 7 and the Loewe Puzzle Hobo quite often. However, if I had to pick a standout favorite, my white Prada Cleo bag certainly claimed the top spot.

On the other end of the spectrum, my Louis Vuitton x Urs Fischer Pochette Acessoires received the least amount of wear. Its delicate nature and sentimental value made it a special occasion-only piece, so its limited outings were to be expected.

How about you? What was the star of your collection this year? Was it something old, something new, or something entirely different?
