Over the past decade, numerous bag lines have been introduced by our beloved designers. In the last five years, many of these have been iconic designs that are making a comeback. From Dior and Prada to Louis Vuitton and Gucci, almost every major design house has delved into its archives to resurrect bags from the past. These re-edition bags have proven to be extremely successful for luxury brands and are highly sought after by consumers. However, there is a lack of excitement that comes with the fashion industry’s collective obsession with nostalgia.

The desire for newness and innovation that comes with the release of new bag collections is undeniable. While these collections are indeed exciting, it is hard to replicate the feeling of something entirely fresh with recycled styles and shapes. Many bags have recently caught my eye for different reasons, but very few completely new releases have piqued my interest. There’s a significant difference between liking a bag and being completely in love with it. That head-over-heels and gotta-have-it excitement that comes from seeing something totally new is what we all crave.

Even the Bottega Veneta Hop bag, which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it and ended up buying it during my trip to Paris, is based on an archival silhouette. As new arrivals for spring continue to drop, are there any that have piqued your interest?
