Collaboration lies at the center of Fendi’s ethos, and each season, the dynamic partnership between Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi underscores the strength of co-creative leadership. This collaborative spirit has inspired “Friends of FENDI,” a series of collections and special projects that celebrate the art of friendship.
The most recent participant in this initiative is Japanese streetwear icon Hiroshi Fujiwara, a longtime friend of Kim Jones since the late 90s. Fujiwara’s influence extends beyond the realm of fashion, encompassing various forms of creativity across art, music, and fashion. His impact has been instrumental in shaping the global fashion landscape as we know it today.
The highly-anticipated “FENDI x FRGMT X POKÉMON” collaboration sees Fujiwara reimagining the iconic FF Jacquard logo from his brand, Fragment, effectively disrupting classic Fendi aesthetics in a refreshing manner. Silhouettes such as the Peekaboo ISeeU and Baguette have been given the FRGMT treatment, featuring a new foldable Baguette shopper and a soft hobo that will appeal to streetwear enthusiasts.
Extending the collection even further, Fujiwara and Jones have joined forces with the Pokémon Company to infuse Fendi’s beloved fan favorites with popular characters from the Pokémon universe. Pokémon and Dragonite are seamlessly incorporated with Fendi’s FF logo, injecting a playful twist into timeless pieces like the Baguette, Mon Tresor, Peekaboo, and more.
The collection’s pièce de résistance comes in the form of a captivating beaded Baguette bag adorned with exquisitely detailed micro-beaded fringe and embroidery depicting three Pokémon characters. While the collection is set to enchant both fashion enthusiasts and gamers alike, the collaboration culminates with a special version of the popular mobile game sensation Pokémon GO.
Coinciding with the collection’s launch, starting tomorrow, January 4th, 2024, players will have the opportunity to discover digital avatar items featuring designs from the collection. For more details, explore below.
