In today’s edition of Closet Confessions, we have the pleasure of meeting a handbag enthusiast who has spent the last 6 years collecting purses. Our interviewee, identified as CC 206, acquired her first luxury bag, a Louis Vuitton Pallas, at the age of 60. Since then, she has amassed a collection of 20 bags, with diverse offerings from Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, and Chanel, among others. CC 206 finds assistance in making her bag decisions from YouTube and our very own tPF, and she tends to gravitate towards classic bags. She has discovered that these classic pieces work well for her lifestyle and are easier to sell if they no longer suit her preferences.

During our interview, CC 206 candidly shared that she faces a shopping challenge, explaining that luxury bags were once beyond her reach when her children were younger. However, as she has aged and acquired more financial stability, it has become a bit of an obsession for her. She is self-aware and acknowledges the impact of her newfound purchasing power.

In providing some background details, CC 206 revealed that she is 66 years old, lives in Canada, and works in administration within the real estate industry. She earns a salary of $75,000 annually and brings in a total household income of $200,000. In terms of her bag collection, she listed the value at $50,000 and shared that her most expensive bag is the LV Pochette Métis in embossed leather.

In the course of her bag ownership journey, CC 206 has faced some decisions regarding the bags she purchases. She mentioned disappointment with the LV Neo Noe with black leather trim and the LV Siena MM, which turned out to be too large for her. However, she also expressed anticipation for her next purchase, the LV Odeon PM tote, and revealed a ‘holy grail’ dream bag she aspires to own: the Chanel Double Flap.

The interview further delved into CC 206’s shopping habits, revealing that she makes an average of 2 to 4 bag purchases per year, and often sells old bags to fund her new acquisitions. She expressed a preference for shopping in-store, and detailed her interactions with different second-hand bag sources.

Overall, CC 206 provided insights into her bag purchasing decisions, care for her bags, and relationships with sales associates. She also addressed the notion of societal pressure for bag purchases, the influence of fashion trends, and the significance of maintaining a close rapport with sales associates.

Throughout the interview, CC 206 shared her experiences in a candid and introspective manner, offering a comprehensive look into her love for luxury handbags, her purchasing habits, and the impact this passion has had on her life. Her story reflects the unique journey of a dedicated handbag enthusiast, navigating a world of luxury that has become an integral part of her life.
