The previous month, right before Thanksgiving, we delighted the kids and took them to Walt Disney World to celebrate Millie’s 7th birthday. Despite living in Florida, we had only taken Millie once (when she was too young to remember), and this was our first trip to the happiest place on Earth with the kids. I gleaned a lot on this trip, from the ideal small bag to carry to the parks and what to pack inside to how to navigate Genie+ in the best way possible to the hotel that offers every Disney perk and a luxury feel after a long day.
I have a knack for packing and planning, ensuring nothing is forgotten regarding a trip. With a 7-year-old and 4-year-old in tow, the drive, while three hours door to door, can feel much longer. I had my Dior Book Tote close at hand in the car, providing enough space for a medical bag with everything from Tylenol to Epi-Pens, and also holding our snacks, kids’ items, personal effects, and more. This bag encapsulates Dior’s ability to release bags with whimsical and ethereal designs, and its beige multicolor butterfly bandana embroidery ensures durability.
For our short trip, my clothes were packed in the new Louis Vuitton LV Colormania Keepall from the recent Colormania collection. This bag fits an ample amount, and with rising prices, the $2,500 Keepall feels affordable for its large and practical size.
On the other hand, the standout star of our trip was my Gucci Diana Small Shoulder Bag, which was small yet mighty in every way possible. It was convenient for dashing through the parks, with an optional shoulder strap and a fold-over top that is secure yet easy to access.
Additionally, I carried my Sézane Claude Bag, which fit my small pouch with medical items, my phone, and our Disney cards. It was light, crossbody, and gave me the comfort of having my own bag with my belongings.
Our incredible stay at the Four Seasons Orlando was the highlight of our trip. This hotel, a part of Disney Hotels, provided perks such as early park entry and upgraded our room to a suite with a view of the evening fireworks. The hotel staff were considerate enough to provide treats for the kids, balloons for Millie’s birthday, and a memorable character breakfast with Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie.
Our trip to Disney was amazing, expensive, exhausting, and memorable. It’s nothing like you remember, so research is essential. And finding the right, functional bag is important, so I’ll keep testing and finding which of my bags works for each situation!
